Sillerman has been planning to have the Graceland Plaza built on the Graceland Mansion side of the boulevard, and transform Memphis as Elvis left it to us. Memphis will be transformed from Brooks Road all the way to Shelby Drive. Plans have gone that far already, that what's about to happen can not be stopped anymore. Sillerman has started his plans after tribute week 2007, but it could take a while before anything happens. Sillerman is always up to something, but it is hard to tell what, and when he'll put his plans into action. According to rumors, the big transformation was to start in March 2008, but maybe Sillerman isn't willing to put out a substantial amount of money right now on an economy that is laging. They want to make an amusement park out of Graceland and surrounding area. It is really scandalous that the city of Memphis even allowed those changes to happen, on Elvis Presley boulevard as Elvis left it to us. Hope they'll regret it someday. Plans are to tear down Heartbreak Hotel and make a much bigger and more fancy hotel. We're told the new hotel(s) will be built on the same side of the street as the mansion ... and that the new visitors center "may" be built on the same side, as well. According to EPE, the Presleys will never sell the Graceland Mansion.
